On 16 October, Uzbekistan’s president announced that agreements had been signed for six major energy projects worth a combined US$4.7 billion. The projects are expected to add 3,000 megawatts of generation capacity and 400 megawatts of energy storage, while renewable sources already accounted for 31% of the country’s electricity generation according to the presidential announcement.
Energy developers, engineering firms and equipment suppliers can explore opportunities in power generation, storage and grid modernisation. HPC can support energy-data analytics, project monitoring and operational modelling; US$4.7 billion is the announced value of the six-project package, not proof that all project expenditure has already occurred.
